AMG C43 Premium Plus
Seen it is to be launched at the Geneva show in March, alongside the W205 cabriolet.

Anyone got a clue on an actual UK launch and when the order books open. Dare is say price too, what's it likely to be?

This is a renamed C450 AMG and the price was expected to be in the region of £45K. However if it's getting full AMG branding they may take the opportunity to squeeze a bit more out of people.

Target date for the C450 was mid 2016, I can't see the C43 being much different as it's only a badge change and nothing else.

Interesting marketing decision.

I'm quite looking forward to the E43 Estate, especially if it gets 4Matic.

The E range has been crying our for a 6cyl petrol engine in the UK line up.

Whilst the "one-man one-engine" won't happen on the "43"s, I think it does help with naming bit a lot...

I wonder how many people it does take to build a "43" engine.

It would funny if it turns out it's one bloke, but in another factory.

C450/C43 comes out in quarter 3. You should expect it for September delivery

Thanks JBD
Any detail on when ordering will be available. Specs / Pricing etc ???

Will be good car. Not an AMG and frankly I'd rather buy a couple thousand mile C63.

I wonder if anyone flogged off their C43 xxx number plate thinking it would unlikely to return...

I reckon the arrival of the C43 will weaken C63 prices. Be an interesting decision to make when there are 2 kids on the block and its the main reason I'm holding off getting a C63.

Snap. Change due in September but with build times, got to start thinking about it now.

It really is a peach of an engine. The power delivery is smooth and effortless and not savage like a full fat AMG, and I "only" have the 329bhp version. I've already become very attached to the driveability and power available.

Real world, the performance of this car is more than you ever need, it'll be sub 5 secs 0-60 mph and providing somewhere close to a 30mpg average.

Add 4wd to that list and I really think they have a winner here.

Like others mentioned, I think the C63 sales will take a hit as a result of this car.

I'm really looking forward to these new generation 6cyl petrol motors, it's a line up that's been completely missing from the MB range.

Where did you drive one? I'm tempted to order one given the mileage I'm doing

Normal Merc engines have a lot of the sub assembly (valves etc) done by machine, and the assembly line has 20-30 people on it.

Last July someone (possibly MB themselves) bought C450 AMG from DVLA for the bargain price of £400, well it would have been a bargain if the name had stuck

I'm sure the owner of C43 AMG must be rubbing their hands together.
