Economy....Not perhaps a word commonly used in the same sentence as "c55" without a "not" somewhere.....however, (and this was with a few bootfulls ...)

Nice. :)

I got 28.6 out of the E55 on Sunday which is a new record for me. Cruise control at 75 on the M6. I tried to get the missus to take a picture but she was on the phone for most of the journey.

That's good. I struggle to get over 27 mpg but then I am quite heavy on the right foot!

Either my foot is made of lead or you all live at the top of a hill and only post your stats after you have arrived at the bottom. My E55 has never achieved more than 21mpg and that has been only 3 or 4 times from memory, the majority of the time it averages 16.9-17.9 and my best ever tankful was 252 miles.

:D

28.6 was the average over a 200-mile journey, a lot of which was motorway driving with the cruise control on.

Normally I get 18-23 out of it.

Edit: not surprised you're getting lower MPG with those BHP/torque figures. :o

under-inflated tyres?

Keep it under 70mph and leave gaps big enough to never need the brakes :thumb:

Your estate is a supercharged V8, the C55 is naturally aspirated so more economical. We had a '98 E55 same engine as the C55, averaged 21mpg, using the power freely. When the cat was switched for a high flow unit, similar driving the average was 25mpg, sounded great.

The driving experience of a '55' is worth the difference in ££ for petrol!

OK - I rested my foot on the pedal GENTLY and tried to leave as much space as possible so as not to brake and then have to burn fuel accelerating back to speed. You have to remember that I live in London so the first and last 6/7 miles are in traffic, and I finally managed to get into the 20+ club for a journey and may have even hit 25+ on the motorway :bannana::bannana:

Dullest journey I have had in a long time, I preferred when it was 16mpg

^ As above,27.4 best but do average about 22mpg over a tank.

Sounds about the same as me. Lower average when lots of local trips, of which there are quite a few more at the moment thanks to this weather!
