C63 507 Coupe..

Glad to hear you are keeping the car. Shame Mercedes wouldn't play ball with the wheels, but at least you have the ones you wanted .

H20 MRV – Good to hear you got the wheels sorted.......:thumb:

Once fitted post some pics......:thumb:

I thought about changing the wheels to 20” and putting some wider rubber on the rear! + coil over’s and a sportier (louder) exhaust – I did leave a list for Santa’ Lol.

Happy New Year to all.......

I was told 20" would not fit on a C63 ... Would catch the arches ?!

Nice set tho H20.... Thought I might have to make you an offer on your bonnet if you was still on your way down to getting rid Lol!

Looking at some of the us C63's they are running 20" rims, although I think they are all saloons if my memory serves me correctly but I assume the offset etc is the same for both cars.

I've got to say I prefer cars in their original state and I would have stuck with the Merc wheels. I would hate to pay so much for HRE wheels and then see them fitted on an Audi next to me.

I would make a wild guess that in a years time the wheels won't be the only non standard part on that car,

That's a shame. Leaves only 52 other 507s in the UK I would be looking towards if I wanted a used one. Probably most of those would be modified too.

I had a MK1 Golf GTI when I was 19 and spent thousands modifying it. But now at 39 I really don't see the attraction of modification anymore, I would rather spend the extra on a better car in the first place and work my way up to a 911 or even a Ferrari before I get too old to enjoy. Just my opinion.

Yep... been there done that.... :D

(It was a MkI Astra 1.8 though)

At my advanced age I can no longer see the attraction of it all - I guess there's a time and place for everything!

Good luck to the OP with the new wheels. :thumb:

Don't worry in a few years there will be more 507's for sale than were ever produced.

but..

Correct, BUT I will keep all the std parts ( except the std wheels of course ) :wallbash:

Acid is on the case :D

I still get it, I've modified all my cars over the years, I also did the whole plough a loud of cash at 20 into a MKII golf Gti - big engine, lowered, wheels, stupidly large stereo etc. :-)

A lot of people still modify porkers and fezzas to make them look a little different and stand out.

But the argument for the OP to change the wheels is even stronger as the standard rims are not the 507 wheels. Plus he hasn't chosen some cheap and nasty replacement alloys rom halfords but some top shelf HRE's! (that are on my shopping list if my bus resto ever ends and stops bleeding me dry)

perhaps things are on the up..fingers crossed!!
