Hello all. :)

I used to own a W211 E55K but wandered off into the fog of Porsche/Audi/Lotus ownership for a while. :D

I'm currently driving an Audi 8P RS3. It's a great little car but owning something with the AMG 6.2 V8 in it has been on my wish list for a long time. C63s are now within reach. :)

My RS3 has been valued at around £25,000. I'm looking for a straight swap or close to one.

These are the cars that I'm looking at.

Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG 7G-Tronic 5dr

Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG 7G-Tronic 5dr

Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG 7G-Tronic 5dr

Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG 7G-Tronic 5dr

Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG 7G-Tronic 5dr

Mercedes-Benz C Class 6.3 C63 AMG 7G-Tronic 5dr

Does anyone know anything about any of these dealerships? Any obvious reasons to avoid any of the cars I've listed?

I know those are open-ended questions but I've been away for a while and I'd appreciate any and all advice. :)

TIA.

Welcome.

Those cars do seem nice low mileage examples :)

Thank you. :D

The only other car on my shortlist at the moment is the Audi B8 RS4 but they're significantly more expensive and the engine's tiny. :D The S-Tronic gearbox is amazing though. I have it in my RS3. My old E55 had the 5-speed auto which was clunky and dull-witted. Is the 7G-Tronic a big improvement?

Personally I don't mind the gearbox and I've come out of a DCT M3 E92 so take from that what you will.

Having driven a B8 RS4 I wouldn't take one over the AMG as the RS is quite subdued and well boring.

How's tricks stranger?!

Depending on your exact requirements, you're budget isn't too far off a facelift; much more modern interior (dash layout, technology etc) and iirc the gearbox is the 7G+ which doesn't have the *cough* characteristics of the early 7G.

Good to see you back pal. :thumb:

I've heard quite a few people say that about the B8. I'm driving one tomorrow to see what they're like.

Hello mate. Glad to see you're still here. :)

Requirements: 6.2 V8, as many seats/doors and bigger load space than the RS3 (hence why I'm looking at the estate). That's about it. :)

Did the facelift happen in 2011? Are there any obvious identifiers when looking at adverts?

I've just done a quick search. It looks like MCT-equipped cars are about £10k more expensive than the ones I'm looking at.

:)

Looks lovely but it's a saloon.

It was more just to show you at what prices the facelift a start at. ;)

Having said that, there was a facelift C63 estate on eBay and AT recently for £23k but it had about 70k miles on.

Ah, OK. Sorry. :thumb:

Higher mileage is not a concern for me as long as the history stacks up. :)

No.

The MCT is great, it can be a bit annoying due to the delay on up shift at times.

That's my main concern. The Audi S-Tronic was a revelation when I first tried it and it still impresses me now. The upshifts are almost seamless and they're accompanied by a lovely little snort from the exhaust. Changing down requires a bit more thought - you can wrong-foot the 'box if you time your change badly - but the throttle blip is excellent.

That one looks fantastic. :bannana:

I see the dash display was updated on the facelift. The interior looks better in general as well.

MCT is not as good at DSG/S-Tronic/PDK, it's not even as good as a ZF tbh, it's the weakest link in the C63 imo. Still a great car though.

I've never tried a ZF. My only experience of autos before the S-Tronic were the sluggish 5-speeds in my W211 E55K and my C5 RS6.
