C63 advice

I'm surprised to hear a negative comment about the MCT auto-box. It was one of the main reasons I bought my SL63 that and the engine of course.

In a day of driving the diabolical paddle shift system in a 2010 Aston martin soft top and an Audi R8 s-tronic as soon as I drove the SL with the MCT my immediate thoughts were if either of those cars had an auto-box like the MCT my choice would be very difficult.

I did like the PDK in the Porsche Turbo I tried but the MCT in Sport+ or manual does it for me, in my opinion the combination of the N/A V8 and the MCT are about as good as it gets.

OP if you try a MCT car select Sport+ it really does put the car in hooligan mode.
Just my humble opinion because ultimately it's your choice.

Thanks for your reply. Good to hear the MCT getting a positive comparison to the R8's S-Tronic. :)

The early R8 was R-Tronic and was never very popular, later versions adopted the S-Tronic which I've always found very good. The MCT is as good as the others when pressing on, I just find it a bit dimwitted when cold and at low speed.

They got a C63 estate in with PP last night so I drove that instead of the saloon:
Used 2012 Mercedes-Benz C Class C63 Amg PERFORMANCE PACK for sale in Warmington Oxfordshire | TH Boler Car Sales Banbury, Oxfordshire

The engine was glorious but the gearbox ruined the experience. Sluggish upshifts and laboured downshifts, even in M mode. I tried this newer E63 ( Used 2014 Mercedes-Benz E Class E63 Amg for sale in Warmington Oxfordshire | TH Boler Car Sales Banbury, Oxfordshire ) just in case there was a problem with the transmission in the C-Class but it was just the same. I guess I'm just not a fan of the Merc multi-clutches. What a shame. I'm gutted! :(
