Has anybody got any quick tips on how to improve cooling on the C63? I'm doing a track day on Wednesday and it looks like it will be the hottest day of the year so far!!!
I'm going to put the standard map back on to make her a little quieter, but just wondering if any trim ect could be removed to help air flow?
Cheers

give paul at eurocharged a call as part of my package ime fitting bigger oil cooler and a sep transmission cooler

Run with the a/c off and do at least one proper cool down down lap. When parked up in the pits or carpark leave the bonnet open and the car in shade. After I sometimes roasted mine I would leave Goodwood and good for a local drive with the internal heating on full blast (driver vents off and passenger facing out of the window) and windows down to try and lose some residual heat. In the space of a day, I don't think you can do anything - the car will cope but the gearbox may get a bit clunky when toasty.

I found the cooling fans kick in less in sport plus mode vs manual. Oh and don't use the parking brake after your session. For a so called performce car I think the cooling on it is below par.

I done a lap of Nurburgring last year and saw 129 C which really bothered me. Looked into the upgraded cooling pack etc. which I couldn't justify. When going back this year I looked at removing the DRL in front of the oil cooler but it wasn't practical. What I did find is that in front of the oil cooler in the wheel arch there is a rubber surround with 'fingers' all the way around which must cover around 50% of the surface area, I guess these deform at speed to allow a little more air flow. I removed these completely carefully cutting the rubber at its mounting points, self explanatory when you see it, so it could be refitted if needed, this allows the full surface of the oil cooler to be exposed. I also put an additional vent in the bottom of the wheel arch liner but there may not be time for that. On the road the recovery time is much improved, at Nurburgring with almost identical conditions this year the max temperature I saw was 115C.
It may not work for all but it definitely worked for me. And, contrary to others experience, it runs cooler in manual than sport plus, maybe because you can control the load on the engine a little easier?

Great tips there MACC. Just what I was looking for. I will check it out in the morning.
I will be at Snetterton, been nearly 2 years since I last managed to find the time. Did it in my previous C63 (2010) with no LSD at the time so this will be a nice comparison.

On the superior pre facelift the cooling is better. They cut costs on the facelift so you should be ok.

Cooling definitely needs some attention. Oil temp kept hitting 142c and going into limp mode, gearbox was very sluggish. Plus I very nearly trashed a set of tyres!

All that aside had a fab day and was really amazed how the C63 managed her near 1750Kg weight.

Oh and 8.9MPG!
