C63 diff

New to the forum so if anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

Iam trying to identify the diff on my car, from research I have read that if you have the cooling fins then your car is likely to have a lsd. Can anyone confirm??? As mine as the cooling fins but it doesnt have the 471 code in the vin....
The car is a saloon. First registered 31/12/2010

If you have fins you may not have an LSD. If you don't have 471 co9de you will not have an lsd.

Fit a Quaife ATB diff. They are better than the standard diff.

So having Finns doesn't mean you have a lsd???? Sorry that's what I had read when I was searching.
I cant see the code on my vin. I was sort of thinking that it may have been fitted afterwards. Is there any other ways to tell???

Jack it up and spin the wheels. If they both spin the same way when rotated by hand then you have an LSD.

The fins on mine ( LSD ) are huge compared to say an m5. Sorry not seen a non lsd c63 so don't know what they look like. Also there a shinier aluminium look compared to diff carrier.

Sorry just re read your post. The number 471 won't be in the vin. 471 is a code for options list.

So where will this 471 code be located???? if anywhere... it might be a few weeks yet before I get the chance to get the car in the air..

It is on the datacard.
