C63 oil topup

another related question are you guys getting squeeky brakes ... when braking at low speed ... is there a solve on this ???

Mobil 1 does come in a couple of different grades.

The 10w60 is for "motor sport".

The one we normally refer to as "Mobil 1" is the 0w40 - normal road use, it meets all MB specs.

There are any number of other makes that meet these specs and MB do list them but Mobil 1 is a top quality oil. I have used it for years on a number of cars, it seems to last better than other full-synths, and preserves the engine well. I got over 330k out of the Volvo 245 before we parted company, engine still good.

The MB dash warning seems to come on when it wants 1 Litre of oil (mine actually states the amount to be put in).

Totally agree it is a great oil I only ever used it in my TVRs and as anyone knows witness cars they are damn fussy. Well I had to fill up with 1 1/2 ltrs for the first time on my 63 last weekend. Cost me £15.99 per litre then saw Halfords do 5 for £49.99 which I think is great value. Do you guys no of any cheaper?

Hi Henry

ive put 3.5 litres in during the first 12,000 miles ( actually used probably near 4 litres )

so say a 1 l top up @ 3000 miles

one of the othe guys ..Akham ( i think ) said as often as 1 litre every 1700 miles

so yours seems fine on that basis

:thumb: its obviously a stroll in the park hunting lambos !

i suspect that upgrade gives subtle improvements in terms of throttle response almost regardless of revs and gear..

Cool thanks for the details on that bud.

That stage 1 tune certainly made a difference mate on the track, really glad I had that done. I watched Benilux's video of Goodwood yesterday where he had his camera fixed on me and even though we both have PPP cars, when we hit the straights I was pulling away. That extra 28 bhp makes a difference but think the huge up tick on Torque is where the big difference comes in.
