C63 Remap

Hey guys i have mentioned this on another page but i thought id make a new thread see if i could get more opinions on this, its really bugging me.

Had my car remapped last friday at More BHP in crewe and it only ran 429 hp stock and 485 hp after the map

Just want to know if these are normal results as iv seen most people well over 500 hp after

Maybe my car is just one of the bad ones?

It only has 15000 on the clock too

And by no means am i slating More BHP they have mapped all my previous cars and done a really goo job

you shd really have got msl or eurocharged to load the handheld and you wld only have downloaded the map and shd have around 510bhp

Mine ran a lowly 430 ish stock, again the car had only covered 16,000 miles.
Still got to the healthy 510 after the Eurocharged remap at MSL.

Why did you not use one of the more established forum tuners like MSL, GAD, PCS etc? who are experienced in getting a C63 set up for optimum mapping results...if your car is running low (standard should be around 450HP?) to start you may have some running problems that need to be fixed or improved, when did you last fully service the car including ATF change?

Your map gain represents about 13% (56 HP) increase, my understanding from NA cars is that 10-20% map only result is normal dependent on a number of variables...I am sure others will comment further.

Have you done any exhaust mods?

My car is due for service in 2 weeks, tbh i dont really know much about the car iv only had it 3 months. Had it remapped because it diddnt feel as fast as i was expecting.
Maybe i should take it somewhere else after the service, closest to stoke on trent?

Stock non PP is 457hp so a 27hp loss even before a map

If you are in Stoke and service is due, Brum is just down the road were MSL are located, he can give the car a full check over and you can explain your concerns, call Acid to book in 0776544447, if you leave a msg he is one of a very few garage owners I know who actually returns calls..

My money is on there Dyno was either set up wrong or the car was not strapped down correctly.
Between pre and post map you still made a gain of nearly 60bhp.

Do they normally Dyno high power cars??

Still agree with previous comments that a Eurocharged map is the way forward.

Try another Dyno run at a different place and my money is on you will see 510bhp (Dyno dynamics Dyno in shoot out mode)

We'll meet up at TRAX then. There won't be anything like a decent dyno there. There will be a lot of us going who have all been on a few rolling roads throughout the country, and can hopefully help you out. I'll be in a noisy grey E Class that looks like a taxi.

I also happen to know that Acid from MSL will be there as well, so a potential result.

On Sunday at MSL while I was waiting for mine to be dyno'd a couple of c63's went on before me. One produced 510 and the other 535. 510 being pretty much what is expected but 535bhp is pretty healthy for a standard car with just a map. Mine was already mapped ( but not by eurocharged ) and catless. Before eurocharged map it produced 556bhp Jerry even called me over to ask what I'd had done to it. He said it felt very strong. After the eurocharged map it got it up to 577bhp. Now these figures are very high for a car with just a map and exhuast work. Maybe the dyno was out or maybe there are freak strong engines out there that produce a bit more power.

Just to update on this. After having the car done on sun at MSL I didn't really get chance to stretch its legs on the journey home due to constant traffic. I hadn't driven it since until today. The difference is unbelievable!! It pulls so much better. Also can tell it's a lot quicker because the traction light is hardly off since the remap

Ive also notised when i put my foot down after the map, there is a really loud whining noise. Is this normal?

Maybe if you had a charger fitted but not just after having a remap. How loud exactly is this whining noise? Sounds like you might have an air leak.

Its loud under load, you can hear it over everything.
Spoke to Acid from MSL he said it could be throttle body (i think thats what he said) i do want try get my car down to him really, its just getting the time do so
