C63 stolen warning

The keys to mine are in the same room as the dog :). I'm sure she'd give them up to any thief that asks nicely:). I thought these organised thefts had got wise to trackers now? I read somewhere about them putting them in metal containers to block the signal?

A friend of mine told me recently that his insurance is now cheaper if he parks on the road than if he parks in his driveway because of the increase in this type of theft.

+1

I did a dummy quote a few weeks ago and it was slightly cheaper parking on the street rather than parking on the drive:eek:

Mine came with Tracker, but I never renewed the subscription.

Wonder what would happen if it were to be stolen, and I called them immediately. Would they re-activate it to assist the Police with their enquiries? Mmm... Dunno.

Yes. That's exactly what they did, for a premium price.

Spot on fella. Keys should be left in a place where they are easily accessible.

My insurance policy states keys have to be securely locked away when cars not in use, so in the safe they go. I've always done that. I'd advise people to check the small print particularly on Multi car or traders policies its quite common.

I think locked away inside a private dwelling would suffice for all policies.

Mine has a Tracker which I didn't know. I discovered whilst doing some work on the car.

However, given the age of our yours and mine, Tim, the internal battery may not be working now so it would be a lottery as to whether they could re-activate.

As for insurance being cheaper on the street - I guess this is because people are probably not likely to claim for minor damage / vandalism due to excess so from a risk point of view - a total loss caused by the situation from the OP is worse for the insurance companies vs. a claim for accident damage or serious vandalism on the street.

Not on mine specifies a key safe or safe and even gives minimum Industry spec, but all cars including race cars on one policy. Also when we had the motorsport business we used to take the keys home on an evening again it specified on the traders policy in a locked safe or key safe

Not sure how many of us are using these?

Yep, sorry, just re-read original post re its re-activation

You're right in your earlier comment DM - why wouldn't someone remember the Tracker documents when checking history/receipts at purchase? Bigger

They probably knew about it but thought He'd take a chance on not renewing the subscription. C63 drivers aren't ones for upfronting funds.

I suspect theres a few on here with traders policies but how many have thoroughly read the small print:dk: My policy is with Admiral and is to specifically to cover race and modified performance cars as well as the family daily drivers, all of which are also modded. They brought it to my attention that a condition of the insurance was that when not in use the keys to the cars must be kept in the safes I mentioned earlier.

And you are with your flashy pug and rusty old merc? Haha get real old man:D

Err, all my cars have been bought cash.

Once again Joseph, you show an Amoeba has a slightly higher IQ than you do.

Idiot.

A man after my own heart :thumb:

And what's more, I even managed to buy my own house and not live with Mummy and Daddy like Bangedup... ;)
