Mercedes C63
Hi Guys,

I have a 2013 C63 and looking at some possible upgrades to be done all at once (When funds arrive)

How much would you expect and how different will the car be?
Will it effect the MB warrenty?
The car is on MB finance but I expect to pay that off after the first three years, will below be an issue?

  • Secondary CAT delete.
  • Re-Map
  • Quife Limited Slip Diff.

Secondary cat delete- Bit more noise

Re-map- Quite a bit of difference much harder acceleration, a lot louder blips on downshifts. (Personally I would say use only a Eurocharged or Weistec map)

Quaife LSD- Much better traction off the mark and more controllable when the back end does try to step out.

I would speak to MSL or one of the other forum sponsors and they could probably sort out a good deal for you.

How about warrenty and finance people?
I notice on my C63, although tyres are getting down, cold temps etc, that when I try pull away from stand still, like a roundabout, I get lick a kick from the car and nothing, then power so I guess its breaking traction. I hope the LSD would cure this?
With the Eurocharger allow me to switch betwwen standard map and modified etc for servicing?

If the car is on finance then they own the car, not you. You will need to make enquiries of them to find out whether they are happy for you to modify their car. Remapping and Cat delete will affect warranty on the drivetrain components, but not unrelated parts, such as trim, body and suspension. Don't forget to tell your insurance company either.

Phil has it pretty much spot on WRT the finance and warranty side of things, as has Lee with the benefits.

Personally, my first mod would be the LSD anyway as no-one will know just by looking at the housing externally that this has been done, yet the difference is amazing.

LSD is a fit, forget and give to the next owner mod. For £1500ish you can shove a Quaife in there.

I have a factory LSD and I'm still breaking traction all the time, it's just more controlled. It's pretty annoying having TC cut in as the car feels pathetically slow whenever you want to get a move on but, on a dry day it catches me out, launches hard and I remember why I love it.

I'll also add that even in the Summer, the car accelerates more cleanly and ferociously if I put in into "Sport Handling Mode" i.e. Halfway house between being fully TC'd and absolutely nothing. You need that little bit of slip so the LSD can actually work, before rudely being intervened by your ECU.

looks like it will have to be LSD only :0(

I'm selling a genuine set of c63 2012 downpipes which have been decatted straight pipe. which I used on mine while still in warranty. saving for an upgrade, some headers to go along with the euro charged map I had recently.

Hi,

Whats the straight pipe? All I read was having the secondary CATS gutted so it passes MOT etc.?

To be honest I wouldn't bother with the De-cat......your going to get a bit more noise but no performance increase. (Well i have never seen any before and after dyno graphs.

You can get a hand held (My genius) so you can flash back to stock if you wanted. I had one of these originally when i was running just a Eurocharged re-map.....That was how it all started and how i ended up with what i have now LOL.

I have the secondary cats gutted in mine, you ( or Merc ) cant tell its been done if its done properly, and the sound improvement is huge ( IMHO )

If you can get to Edinburgh I have a gutted set ready to go on a exchange basis.

Hi,

How do I do the map?

Cheers,

These are exactly the mods I have on my 2012 c63, go for euro charged map and use Acid @ MSL for the diff!!
