Car
MK5 Golf GTI + C63 AMG
A few months back I was unsure if my C63's ecu had been wiped by MB and lost its eurocharged Map... Today my car kept up with a new audi RS7 fairly easy with 3 up in the car so guess it still has the map :-) , bad news is think a mobile police unit may have caught me on camera :-(

What's the Max Speed allowed before u lose ur license?

+1 on the 30 above a posted speed limit.

100mph is pretty much a guaranteed 6m ban unless you have an exceptional brief (or you're a top flight footballer)

Yup...it's 30 above. So 60 in a 30, 70 in a 40, 80 in a 50, 90 in a 60 and 100 in a 70. Nothing is set I stone though, you'll get a court date where you plead your case. My bro had 12 points on his license and didn't get banned. Fingers crossed you got away with it though.

Please note : Forum posts about racing/pacing an RS7 will not help you mitigate your defence.

Good luck.

I doubt the RS7 was even trying. Those things are quick...

I'm sure someone will come and correct me but just because the RS7 has a great 0-60 time, doesn't make it quick on the move; loss of power through four wheels as opposed to two for a start.

Plus RWD is for men, Quattro for pussies, he probably chickened out.

I'll correct you!!

The RS6/7 is a beast. Gearbox leaves the C63 behind alone. Plus a mapped one you will wonder where the C63 went in the rear view mirror.....

Speaking from first hand experience, my RS7 (Dynamic Edition) made a SL65 AMG look like it was going in reverse pulling from 100mph. So I doubt a C63 would stand a chance.

Not that is counts for much, from a rolling 20mph start I left a gap of around Three cars from an rs7 on a mile stretch. He had been chasing me for a while but I wasn't interested till there was a clear road.
So gave a nod to each other and gave it a quick blast.
This was in stage 1 of my car so not too much quicker than a bi turbo.

A 550bhp Quattro Audi left a 612bhp RWD for dead past 100mph?

Bearing in mind that this specific "Quattro Audi" kicks out 620bhp out of the box and comes with a 200mph limiter from factory, yes it did.

That was me - I'd missed my turn and was actually going in reverse .

Hahahaaa oh no, what a shame...

That's 620bhp at the flywheel, I'm pretty sure the SL65 will be making more at the wheels.

So... He probably wasn't trying....:p

A heavily modified e55.

VW head office is local so there's always lots of high end ones prancing about and being thrashed, or driven as they should be depending how you look at it.

Unfortunately, it's not all about the fancy figures that the manufacturers pull out, to entice people like you to buy their cars, it's about how the car actually puts the power down on the road in the REAL world. Make no mistake, the SL65 is a fast car. The only difference here, perhaps he was backing off the throttle because he didn't want to end up losing control with so much power and torque going to two wheels! I've been there and I've done that with my Supra (1200+bhp) and trust me when I tell you, anything over circa 550bhp going to the rear wheels alone is uncontrollably freighting! So in this day and age, where cars are built to be safer as opposed to being 'exciting', Mercedes have a lot of catching up to do with 4WD technology...
