Genuine question but if you thought the RS7 such a near-perfect car, why get rid? Seriously?
I had quite a 'public' standoff with the dealership that sold it to me. Unfortunately, I'm actually bound by a NDA so I'm unable to divulge any further detail. However, rest assured, justice prevailed and I'm content with the outcome and settlement.

Besides, I don't see how this RS6 is a fair comparison to my RS7...

Why not? The RS6 and the RS7 weigh similar and the video shows them both obviously at full tilt, your point is that Quattro puts the power down better, yet that video (amongst quite a few) shows the opposite.

I'm intrigued; the oldest RS7's aren't that old so it was still under manufacturers warranty...

Or you had to return it that many times because of certain faults that you returned it permanently as unfit for purpose...;)

The examples in the video are running unverified power! I have, on many occasions, claimed that my Supra was running standard power before whooping someone's backside... Unless of course, I had the ignition on or had popped the bonnet beforehand... Besides, my RS7 was the dynamic edition, which as previously stated, was limited at 200mph. Whereas, the SL65, which I believe is safe to assume, was limited to 155mph. Tuners please correct me if I'm wrong here, the closer you get to the limit, the more the ECU starts to retard the timing in an effort to control your speed as you approach the electronic limiter. So if the run was from 100mph, I don't see why you can't imagine it happening...

Mine was a made to order facelift 2015 MY (HINT). You know I'd love to spill the beans, but unfortunately, I can't. I can however confirm that their were no mechanical faults with the car... Besides, we all know how reliable the MB V12 is, so I don't think you should even go there... :D

Can anyone guess what the number plate says... :P funny enough, the person who bought it off me had a Renault Clio RS... :D

Paint job related from factory. You won't be the first or last to have cause to complain about the factory paint. Last person I heard of the Orange peel was on almost on every panel.

Nice, I used to have one. They're awesomely understated cars, that's for sure! Anyhow, I'm pretty sure my RS7 would make my CLS63 AMG S look silly so I can't really comment on your experience... Perhaps he wasn't a very good driver? Or it was a poor launch? Or perhaps it was a dud car? Who knows...

Same could be said for the SL65.

And the anything above 550bhp to the rear statement is tosh. Doesn't matter after a few digits.

Not saying the RS7 isn't fast btw lol.

+1 on the 30 above a posted speed limit.

100mph is pretty much a guaranteed 6m ban unless you have an exceptional brief (or you're a top flight footballer)

This is really not the case anymore. Very much dependings on traffic, conditions, visibility.

I have seen on other forums people worried about doing 110 120 on motorways and have got away with 6 points because it was quite with no other cars or 2 other cars.

I have been caught doing 92 in a 40 zone - in my defence, no other cars around, not a residiential area, it was coming off the motorway sort of area.

I got 6 months and a 300 pounds fine. that was around 5 years ago now.

The RS7 is around 550/560 BHP, unsure of the weight but Prob more than a C63. My C63 is running eurocharged map so Prob around 500 ish bhp + secondry cat delete and Quaife ( not that it's relevant )...

I know for a fact the RS7 driver was going balls to the Wall as he overtook me at 100+ and was weaving in and out of traffic like an idiot, this is before I even started going for it myself. Also the "race" was a rolling start at high motorway speeds... I'm not saying the 63 would have overtaken, but the RS7 couldn't pull away cleanly and to be fair I was stringing out every last Rev.

End of the day the RS7 will be faster in probably every circumstance but when rolling at 60 mph + there's not that much in it, fact!

100+ in traffic and redlining gear changes i would think you would need to be Johnny golden Bo11ock's to keep your licence if you have been pinged!

Tony.

Please read my previous comment relating to ECU timing and electronic speed limiters...

I'll find out in a few weeks whats happeing but hopefully all should be good..

On a plus note, the dated M156 is still king :-)

It seems that many on here have a very bias opinion on Audi's. This isn't the first thread that I bring it up, it seems as some are either jealous or oblivious of the facts, using childish reasoning for being against anything which is not Mercedes related.

Once the facts are out of the way and the matter is resolved, that an Audi RS has beaten an AMG, the whole argument goes into a different direction where some say that they didn't buy AMG for performance....

Just face the fact and admit that it's an excellent piece of engineering, both are as good as it gets, it different ways, there's no need to hate!

Doesn't matter what forum you are on you always get these threads. The BMW one I was on was hilarious. If you believed the posts a chipped 335d was the fastest car on the road. Truth is you don't know how hard the other driver tried. I drive my A45 fast but also get overtaken and I'm sure there are loads of threads on other forums about how they smoked an A45 today. Regarding the earlier posts about speed and bans. I received 3 points for doing 95 on the motorway. Theres a lot behind this but I was told by the office that any faster would've been a ban. I was overtaking an Audi at the time!!!
