Hi all, as one makes choices before making a big commitment on buying a car especially if its like a second mortgage "sort of speak". I am just realising a slight worry particularly on my part , here goes:
I live in a good neighbourhood area but its not far from a slightly rough part a few streets away. My concern is that my car is c63 in white and loud but it may bring unwanted attention and I only drive it on my days off from work (3days off) I live on a street with the smartest looking Victorian house, no driveway and parked on a street with an average £3-4k car per household on the street . So I see problems like jealousy, envy, haters so on but hey that's life, right? But to be honest I'm not that worried, but worried enough to post this thread and get an opinion from others who share the same dilemma. I'm going to try and buy a cover for my car as this is a good idea i think. Basically the car is too good for my street and I work round the clock so I deserve to have a car like this, I'm no brain surgeon , just a shop worker. Any input would good so I can better understand. Thanks all .

If you're that worried then I suggest you don't buy it and invest in a house in a better area instead.

Hey Mo,

Sorry to say, but if it was me, I'd be soiling my pants
But that's just me -and maybe because I'm used to having a garage.

But having said this, I'm sure there are many people that don't worry and not ever have any problems.

But to me, it's just a matter of time before a little scrote tries to be funny :(

Not really sure what you can do.
A car cover cover is certainly an idea but this is also likely to create curiosity as to "what is hiding under there?!"

Not really sure what to suggest bud.

I live in what sounds like a remarkable similar street. When I bought my C32 ten year ago it certainly did stand out! Don't do it if you are going to be too precious about it - you will find yourself running to the window everytime you hear someone walk past.
I did get a key scratch about 5 years ago, but to be fair, they keyed every car parked down that side of the street - even my neighbours fifteen year old Fiat Punto!
It's a car at the end of the day, and can always be repaired. The worst nightmare is a lunatic who comes back repeatedly again and again every time you get it fixed. Thankfully these nutters are quite rare.
I'd avoid a cover personally, probably attract more attention...

Oh I forgot to mention , I have the car already but my father lives at a nice house & area a mile away with a 7 car driveway and 2car integrated garage. I could leave it there I suppose . I'm happy where I live because it used to be my fathers house before I got it. Thanks for that Mo amg

Dad's place it is then.

You had a rs4 at your property prior to the c63 so i would not worry too much.

Sent from my iPad using MBClub UK

I just realised your name is a cheap imitation of mine... Lol

Most people aren't that interested in cars and won't give it a second glance .

I doubt that anyone will bother you .

Hello the " don" do I know you? What surprised me was the fact you knew I had a black rs4, on that note do you live local then? I'm in Huddersfield .

I know but when I was signing up for mbclub I randomly chose this, it wasn't planned but I just put it in and it said this is not a member so I can use it, so I did . In a way it could mean " more Benz" for me lol!

i used to have a house with no garage,

ford Orion - Twin headlamp conversion stolen, and ICE stolen
fiesta RS turbo - keyed
M3 - 2 sets of mirrors stolen, side mouldings stolen, air bomb set off on bootlid during guy fawkes.

personally, dont do it unless you want the headache

did you have any trouble with the RS4?

Can this be true? Has the internal combustion engine made as far as Huddersfield? The OP also mentions he has a house. I thought that would also be a rarity there.

In order to have a c63 I moved and got rid of house, now the c63 is the house!!

Pushbike to Father's house it is then - sorted.

There are plenty of Mercs in Huddersfield...and bigger ones than your C63. Nobody gives a dam about it. Trust me, if you live in a dodgy area and have a C63, nobody will mess with your car. I was born in Rochdale and nowhere apart from Bond Street do you see heavier metal. Believe me, nodody will touch it so stop being a ****.

Hi alps, no the rs4 did not bother me but boy it was planted firmly to the ground!. I truly felt sorry for her with the messy divorce when leaving her for a faster model at the dealers . It had the "epc" and later on the " check engine" CEL's but it took me ten months out of the 11 months I owned to realise the faults had cleared or at least for the time being 3-4 weeks no lights whatsoever . I had a Ross tech device and found the culprits pointing at the bank2 sensors etc. one day I disconnected the battery for 6 hours and when I put power back on I held the brake pedal down for 20 secs then praised for zero cels and I think it worked and that's where the last month of owning it I truly loved it, it felt and sounded faster, really a proper last minute "thrash til ya trash" moment I had with her, other than that these rs4 are a true drivers car but my new ride is a different story though!
