Hi, My good mate has an R35 Nissan GTR which is set up for the track, but is also road usage.

He loves it to bits but is interested in a black series simply because of the noise. But he wants me to find out, can it be tuned as it is too slow for him. And what is the price of this?

I was thinking Kleemann super charger?

All help would be appriciated

AFAIK, Kleeman don't supercharge the 6.2 V8 in the Black Series.

Brabus, Carlsson and Kleemann all do engine software upgrades for the engine - whether they can do much to a BS engine remains to be seen, though.

Brabus and Kleemann did add a bi-turbo set up to this engine in the ML....in a BS, that would nuts! (If they could do it)

But I think you would be restrained to swoftware upgrades with this car, unless you were doing something custom (and expensive).

The CLK63 BS can produce a great deal of power without adding boost.
Evosport in the USA made over 600HP with a tune and bolt-ons.

evosport.com - Mercedes-Benz CLK63 Black Series Project

Does anyone in the UK offer the same deals / parts etc. And would they fit a UK car (I doubt it)
They seem well cheap compared to UK prices I have seen for some stuff.
Being a US spec car, there must be several "not standard" items that are maybe standard overhere? ..
To get 600bhp on what looks on the face of it around 10K of upgrades ..
Hmmmm
:)

I can supply and fit some RennTech goodies for your car. If you wish to knowwhat can be done just email me with the chassis number.

It does not matter if it is a UK car.

I have driven one that had been re-maped before and after , and wow what an improvement on what was already a quick car :D
Don't know who did it though :wallbash:

600BHP isnt enough, i was thinking around the 700bhp+ mark. Otherwise he wouldnt even contemplate it.

There is one CLK Black that I know of in the us that has 600+ bhp and runs very low 11s and I think 10s with gas, would probably cost 100k to achieve the same here though (inc the car).

700bhp?
Hells Teeth.
I struggle with 500+ in anything but bone dry conditions, like clarkson says, this car is very tail happy. (fun though!).

If he wants 700bhp in this thing, strap a Rocket to the Roof, pray and wonder if that extra 0.2 sec to 60 was worth that extra 15 grand or so lol.

I mean, come on. . if he wants one because he likes the noise it makes, surley putting the exhausts on his car is cheaper (joke!) lol.
:D:D:D

Obvious that your mate is looking for a horsepower "number"
The "number" doesn't mean a thing unless you know the type of dyno that the pull was made on.

Difference between a load and inertia dyno can change the "number" by 15%-18% not including the settings that give the operator some latitude.
The RWP "number" is only used for before and after comparison.
If you look at the Evo mods they increased the RWP by almost 20% with only a tune and headers/exhaust.

Not sure if your friend has ever driven a CLK63BS, but even stock it's brutal...it will break the rear end loose at 80MPH on kickdown.
It's rear wheel drive and not comparable with the Nissan GT-R AWD.

Is the stock GT-R faster then the stock CLK63BS.... for sure..
But no matter how fast the GT-R is, it's more of a "boy racer" image...:bannana:

I own a BS with mods (air box, heat spacer, computer tune , headers, exhaust, pulley, rear spacers, etc). These mods will cost you approx 20K USD. There is a big debate about Renntech headers and personally I would stay away from them. Evosport has done over a 100 BS and is the leader on engine, exhaust and computer mods.

There are two companies who produce a s/c Weistec Engineering - Products and a company in I believe Denmark. My s/c is scheduled to be installed next week.

We take our cars to Germany and spa alot so he uses his power alot! He runs 0-60 in 3.2 and a Gtr isn't all wheel drive buddy it's rwd with 630bhp... The Gtr is tail happy (not quite like the bs) but it's extremely quick! Thank so much for the info though guys I will let him know 600bhp is on the cards
