Evening all.
Got the common problem of the parktronic showing two red bars and a long beep. I don't trust MB to give an honest diagnosis so thinking a MB independant might be able to tell me which sensor is down.

A few other things to fix on the car (BAS light comes on every now and then) looking for a good indy in the North Surrey / South West London area if anyone can recommend anyone.

You probably can tell yourself if its properly broken.

Listen to them all. One will either be ticking (or one will be silent with all the others ticking)

Also worth adding that Alfie at comand.co.uk can sort this as-well - he keeps a few parking sensors in stock and many colours, but if he knows the VIN before he'll ensure he has paint and the right sensor in stock

I have the same problem, rears are failing the system. They're easy to access and remove but I can't hear anything from them. Three are the same and one is a BMW item, but that isn't why it's failed. I can buy replacements for £13.90 each, should I just replace all 4?
Paying £40 to plug in a Star seems OTT.

I have a 211 estate facelift from 2007, so the sensors are in the lower trim section.

You can try DDR Surrey in Ashtead, near Epsom.

He has STAR, have used him a couple of times, very straightforward.

I've had these two red LEDs in the past and it wasn't actually a faulty sensor.

I found a guide on how to access them, remove them and dry them with a hair dryer, and then use a coating of di-electric grease and they were fine.

They've gone again now but I will be applying the same fix again in due course.

Be sure sensors are duff before you replace them!
