Can anyone identify this part?

Hi all!

I was changing the pollen filter in my W140 and I found a little hose about 3 - 4 inches long, which wasnt connected to anything lurking under the cover just below the windscreen. It looks like its knackered as one half of the hose was virtually flat!

I managed to read a part number off it - 140 831 02 97 - anyone any idea what the hell it is?

It's just a water drain hose for the dust filter housing, and the bottom end is supposed to be squashed.
