Folks,

Can anyone recommend an alloy wheel refurbishment company in South London ?

Not a mobile unit.....need to have these dipped an powdercoated.

Many Thanks

Thanks,

However I'm looking for someone closer to South East London if possible.

I would have to leave the car with whoever I use so the closer the better.

Standard answer to this question is Lepsons in Gillingham. Not used them myself, but have seen their work on a couple of Porsches, excellent.

Outfit I used was Rimtec in Meopham, can be a PITA to get hold of as they're a small outfit so may not hear the phone if in their workshop! Aooeared to do an excellent job stripping and re-painting my 968 wheels - until I tried to take them off, bolts had been correctly torqued but the centre main hole had too much paint so I had to beat the wheels off with a club hammer and 4x2.

Lepsons. I think they will collect and return for fee.
Excellent. I've used them a few times.

Lepsons. They're in Gillingham, I've also used them a few times with great results.

Unfortunately Lepsons is not close to me nor can I send the wheels off.

I know Exel do exchange wheels for Porsche, don't know if they do the same for MB. They swop your wheels at your home (or office) then send them to Lepsons, once done they reverse the process. You can also use the service to try a different size wheel while yours are being refurbed, and if you like the other size buy them and sell yours to them.

If you can get to Crawley then Wheelworks offer a same day service on four wheels. Drop off at 8am, collect at 1730. They will loan you a Polo for the day - just pay for the fuel. Results are excellent. We have used them many times over the years.

My friend had his Audi 19" power coated from them, excellent.

+1 for Wheelworks Crawley. Great quality job & service- I dropped them and they brought them back a day or so later for no extra ££, but I think that does depend on where they're going to be, usual rounds etc.

Wheelworks Crawley very good service, had new tires delivered from Germany direct to there site and they fitted after refurbishing 4 wheels.

I use Home - Wheel Refurbishing

BJV Engineering, off M25 junction J20.

Proper job, tyres off, dipped, blasted, repaired and finished as requested, and very good value.

Depends where you are in South London – Blackheath Tyres have started doing a wheel service where they’ll take your car in and send your wheels off, they’ll keep your car for about three days…Speak to Karl, nice guy, he apparently he never used to do wheels but was impressed enough by his guys to start using them.

Might not be the cheapest, but for me it was hassle free because it’s only a ten minute walk from my house.

Not sure where he sends them (you could probably ask) but had mine done about two months ago along with repairs (two cracks and three buckles! – no extra charge) and they came back looking great, the only criticism I have is the wheel balance weights were shiny chrome finish which I don’t like against the powder coated wheels, but you wouldn’t notice unless you had a really close look, I would have preferred a matt silver finish.
