can the clk 230 be tuned much?

It is indeed, mine has been chipped by a previous owner and its made quite a difference

I wouldnt put an air filter on, as has been stated, because the oils in K'n'N and the like run through the system and make the MAF sensor dirty.

Im looking to buy a larger crank pulley and the associated bits soon, so if we find somewhere we could look to getting a bit of a discount? There's a fair few people on here with the 230K engine...

Search 'sprintbooster' on this site, afraid to comment on them really as there's pages worth of discussion, but it basically makes the throttle more responsive so the car feels like it's got more 'go'.

Other than that if you want it to go faster you can always make it lighter, or as montioned, play with the suspension.

If you want to improve the response out of any Merc that has drive by wire, I would highly recommend the sprint booster.

Makes a massive difference to the response of my C230K.

It is about the cheapest and easiest upgrade to fit that will definitely make a difference to the was the car drives.
