Is the 5 speed autobox on a W202 a learning/fuzzy logic one where it learns you driving technique?

I'm finding 3rd is a bit jerky when up changing recently. Not sure if it's because I'm doing less motorway work and more town driving these days.

Thats how all my trouble started with my 202.
Get it on the diagnostic and find out whats wrong asap, could save you loads of grief and money.
mines going for oil and filter next week, hoping that this could cure it and not need the new ecu.

The ECU in the gearbox has no memory as such, it is a key self setting device, that means when ever the key is turned it resets.

The gear box ECU talks to the engine ECU, the memory is such that if you did a fast run, using the gears and you hit a 30mph limit, it would be back to normal within seconds.
Colder weather always makes them a little more jerky, dont forget the the sealed for life theme has gone out of the window, and the oil should now be changed at 60k,along with the filter, everyone says how much smoother they are once done.

Ummm. My gearboz seems to be playing up a bit (see my post).

Sometimes its OK and sometimes its not whenever u use the car. Your comments may explain this...

How much is a new ECU BTW?

How easy is it for a MErc dealer to diagnose?
