Strange one here - any advice?

Like many, I use photobucket for hosting images. I access it pretty frequently, but as of today, I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

Here's the weird bit ... it loads OK if I use another account on the same PC (Win7). And on my laptop (connected to the same router).

Have tried clearing the DNS cache and deleting all temporary internet files - no difference. Have also re-booted the PC and the router (the latter before I found that other accounts worked).

Any bright ideas? Browser is IE9, everything fully up to date with patches.

TIA :)

I guess, but nothing's changed since yesterday as far as I know ... and that's the only site I can't access :dk:

Account is an admin account btw.

I'm straight in.

I recently had a bit of bother due to changes on the site , and because I had held off upgrading to the new site because I preferred the look and feel of the old one .

However , just checked and am in OK tonight .

Make sure http and not https. Also check your event logs in reliability monitor ...start/programs/admin tools just in case something has changed it might tell you there.

Reliability report shows only updates being Microsoft Security Essentials virus definitions at 08:02 and 12:10 today.

I was able to access photobucket OK last night, but from 09:55 this morning till 21:02 tonight I got "cannot display the web page".

Bizarre.

Wasn't yesterday (18th) the day they upgraded to the new version? Maybe it was something to do with that.

Dunno, but it's still OK today thank goodness :D

A fair few people are having problems. LINK.
I seem to recall one site where people were really slating photobucket recently. They do tend to tinker with the site and create problems for users.

I could always access the new site, but couldn't view an image and then click on it to copy and paste.
It turns out that you can only right-click the bottom half of an open image to copy it.
Clicking on the top 50% doesn't allow copy to be selected. Nice feature. :wallbash:

I've never had any problems till yesterday.

I don't particularly like the new version (which I've been on for some months) - the old one was definitely easier to use!

Agreed.

Why do website developers like to keep changing to things that don't work. I guess it's so they get paid for actually doing something.
