Can't change my own text without buying Corel Draw again?

In an effort to reduce operating costs by getting rid of our fax line, I subscribed to MyFax.

I now have a new fax number..

Years ago, I drew our logo etc, with Corel Draw 12, which I cannot now find.

I need to change the fax number on our company letterhead (residing in MS Word) but get the message below.

The server application, source file, or item cannot be found.

Make sure that the application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved, renamed, or blocked by policy.

Am I correct in assuming that I need to buy another edition of Corel Draw to be able to effect the changes?

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

Depends how the fax number has been incorporated into the logo. Is it possible to hide it by cropping the image in Word, and then type in the new one using a matching font? You can use text boxes in Word to achieve the correct positioning.

The way I got out of this one was to take a high res screenshot of the letterhead whilst displayed in Word, I use Hypersnap or Faststone for this.

Save the file and then open it up in something like Paint, put a text box accross the old number, type in the new one and save the file.

Then open Word import the file as a picture and you have a brand new letterhead and number.

Thats probably not the most elegant way of doing it but it does work

Thanks.

I should have made it clear that the fax number is not part of the logo.
The number is part of "the footer" which contains only text.

I think the problem may lie in that the footer was created using Corel Draw, and I no longer posess the software CD since buying a new laptop.

as above, do a screen grab and paste it as a new image in the editor of your choice. It does not really matter how high the resolution is as FAX is low res even at its best

The next question is:

After creating the original document I used it in MS Word and Access.

If I do manage to edit the "master copy" I assume the changes will carry through to Access when I replace the original in that program, but I'm fearful that all the word documents will not update, meaning that "old word documents" will still contain the old fax number.

Your old saved documents would not update... I have a similar problem having 'refreshed' my logo, and am having to swap it individually on all of my standard documents.

I have a letterhead template, with logo's etc in Footer and Header. I then just copy and paste the letter content straight over.
