Cant connect to FTP server

Ive just done a clean install of XP + SP2 and now I cannot connect to any of the FTP servers I use.

I have disabled the windows Firewall, and am trying to connect to the 123-reg.co.uk server.

Any idea's what the host name should be for that? is it the URL of the site im using?

Im getting a 530 error

dotn knwo what a 530 is - but at a guess - passwords? - you connecting with ie or a ftp client?

Just checked, and 123-reg.co.uk cannot be the full name for the ftp server; theres no ftp server on that name:

$ ftp -n
ftp> open 123-reg.co.uk
ftp: connect: Connection refused

So the name you used last time must be slightly different, or their ftp server is down!
