Can't decide on extending warranty

:) I personally don't give a flying fig what it's called and am so pleased I listened to those that first recommended it.

I do however hope the doom and gloom merchants enjoy trying to find fault with it, as so far we have only heard of one refusal where a heavy handed member  :D maliciously broke a fragile piece of plastic and then had the nerve to attempt to claim (tongue in cheek joke) ;)

Regards
John

Appologies firstly - I haven't had chance to read all the thread. £700 seems high for a warranty. I'm paying £280 for mine with WarrantyDirect (2003 C Class)

Warranty direct is about as desperate as the policy I have - make sure you check very carefully before you make your claim . I have a high pressure fuel pump leak and unless the pump launches itself off the block in a shower of sparks then they won't pay.

Have you made a claim yet?

You are right. However, to quote an old saying "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it probably is a duck". Apart from the name, Service Plus delivers everything you would expect from a warranty and then some.

Damn......why would i want a duck when all I want is a service contract. I better stop Grousing on about it then cos I dont want to be accused of crying fowl.

Well Before i am given the bird i will fly off ..... but I can see a thought hatching.:(

I wish that I had spent more than the £600 for two years policy than I did - I had believed that pretty much everything would be covered - but while it says the fule pump is covered when you call and want to claim it has to have suffered a "total mechanical failure" - which one assumes will be split castings (well if that's what they want....)

OI!!

I heard that. Well, read that. You know what I mean!!

I don't know my own strength!! :D :D

I've said this before, but I love the way it lists things like bulbs and wiper blades, and then almost casually says 'Major Units'!
You certainly have, Rory. The big thing now is just to accept from all the evidence on all the threads and the excellent summaries from Kingsize and DieselE, that it really does do what the fans are saying.

I enjoy Rory's doom and gloom post's, he has been consistant from day one and no doubt someone, at some time will be unlucky enough to have a claim rejected and Rory will finally be able to say I told you so.

I dread to think how much my last repair would have cost. Car off the road for five days. Taken away on a flat-bed, a new M-class delivered and then when the car is repaired, ikt's returned and the hire car taken away.
