Mines the same, I think it was because mine was built on 31/12/1997 but was built to 1998 model specifications.

thats all i can think of with mine, its a facelift but maybe it was built during the time of the pre-facelifts?

Sounds dodgy to me

I think means your car didn't have the default German ownership papers written up for it, but got some shipping/export documentation instead.

Easy, 801 == MY2001.

I got that from another vin decoder before, it said MY2001, but my car was built in 2000, as it says further up the specs sheet, what does that mean then? (sorry if im just confused!)

I think your right about the other code though, as my car is UK spec and was exported immediately after it was built etc. (i.e. never used in germany)

They don't start making models with updates on 01/01/2001 . A model year 2001 car will probably have been produced in the latter half of 2000.

Basically every VIN I have ever looked up has had that on it.

Yay! thought there was something dodgy going on! (read as: i mistook model year for build date!)

I kinda wondered if that would be the case, seeing as the only cars such a title wouldnt apply to would be actual 'German' cars!!!

Got that one too, and my wheel arches are definitely rolled.

Says my Cosworth has heated door mirrors which it appears to not have. I'll have to remove the door cards to see if the wiring is there (I suspect that someone has fitted cheap non heated mirror glasses?).

Mine also has option 341 (additional lamp). Map reading lamps maybe?

Its defo the side repeaters. They didnt have them in the rest of europe.

Just out of interest, what makes you think you havent got heated mirrors? They dont have a switch, they work automaticly when the temp out side is low enough. I take it yours dont defrost at all?

What about me?

I just checked out my new E320 Coupe, which I haven't picked up yet, and it says that the car was specced with "281 trunk set" - What is that?

Also, apparently I've got "653 sports chassis with 8-hole light alloys rims" - That's not Sportline is it? I've got just about every other extra on the car (including the bladdy marvellous ortho driver's seat ), but no wing flashes to say it's a Sportline.
