Recently, my friend ask me some questions about the immobilizer, but I am unfamiliar with the immobilizer, so I post the following questions here, hope someone can help me.

What caused the problem that when the dashboard light can't beat the fire on the immobilizer device? How is the wire connected on the immobilizer device? why it can work with his car but can't fire it? Thanks your advice advance.

Just to clarify- does the remote unlock the car, but the key doesn't start it?

What model is the car?

When he opens the car do the interior lights go on? If not, then the car probably does not know the door has been opened and the immobiliser is still active. Could be a faulty door switch in that case. If not...don't know.

not a faulty door switch, my friend have checked, I think if it is necessary to get a unlock immobilizer tool.

yeah, the key doesn't start it, his car is vw golf 5 2005.

Assuming the immob is standard on the car, suggest search VW forums for similar issues- if that's already been done then try specialist help (mobile auto electrician, someone who installs alarms etc). Or a VW specialist of course.

yeah, somebody said the immobilizer is locked, that can start the car only after unlocked the immobilizer with a unlock immobilizer tool.
