Cars seen yesterday (you need broadband)

Got called out to a job end of last week in Monte Carlo...tough life :)

Caught a few ( 3 different) CLS's out there, and some othe nice metal..

Also had the pleasure of being given a W203 220 Elegance as a hire car.

Anyone know what the SAMGF on the back of one of the CLS's is ?? - looks like the corerct spacing, font, etc ?

My guess is that the S and F are dealer/importer additions. They don't look right.

Possibly - close up of the plate has the same SMAGF on it.

The Green CC out there means some kind of Goverment car.

It also has the Monaco Royal Family crest on it !! - Just heard that the Prince is in the Cardio hospital out there, which is part of the Hermatige hotel.........might be something to do with him or his family..

Lol @ CL65 - tht's where they live out there ;). Cue images of Tiff tootling round that time on Fifth Gear.

Google shows SAMGF as the Monte Carlo Merc dealer, although when you try to go to their site it doesn't work.

that CLS looks stunning in black ....

Not too hot in silver tho

I agree - I'm not normally a big fan of black/dark colours as high maintenace/swirls and scratches normally show from just regular washes but when I do eventually get a CLS it will have to be black ;)

Zymol HD cleanse is quite goof for removing swirls etc.

On silver the chrome dual single tail pipes do not stand out (saw one at the Stealers last w/end in showroom)

the black is lovely...makes the car look low and sleek. i agree the badging loogs dodgy and why have AMG on there anyway - is 500 not enough nowadays!!!

I cant wait to go in an AMG cls....one day i hope...have taken the 500 out a few times and it feels very fast compared to other merc 500s. One of those cars that i feels a lot faster than it really is, prob due to size, noise and when you have all the windows down the air really 'slaps' into the cabin - must be the aerodynamics i suppose!

I went a few years ago - it was fantastic. Especially if you love cars.

The badging must be a dealer thing as said above. There were a few that used to do this in UK. My uncles 124 had the name of the dealer (Gericia) in exact MB font and lettering on the boot....

The former Stealer "Alan Day" used to do this to their cars (bade on right hand side of boot and it looked absolutely awful...) -Thsi Stealer has now lost their franchise I believe under the MB Stealerships restructure...

SportsRichCoupe: I really like your Dad's CLS and the ones I have seen from pics and in flesh - I have a C55 AMG on order for approx Oct delivery and am now seriously considering if I should just switch the order over to a CLS500 (only drawback is in case I have teething problems with the early models). I loved the one I saw at the Stealers and the interior was of really good quality.

It will have to be in black with light cream leather...

yeah - same as my old mans (black and light cream)...i would do it mate.

In one drive i reckon i was responsible for about 70 broken necks as people turned to stare at what went by. So imposing a car.

Do it!!! My father has had no teething problems and, having owned benzs for the last 20 0dd years (as well as the odd porsche and bmw) and he says it is the first one he has driven since his old sl320 (about '94) that feels like an old tank of a merc in terms of quality. We shall see though!

I am quite tempted to do so - the new Stealer that I now have close links with cannot get me a demo until mid April - I'm sure thr car will drive fine (hopefully next month I shall have driven one - they already have a my £750 deposit for the C55 which they have said can quiet easily be transfered as car is not due to even be built until late summer...) - Thanks for the postive feedback... I'll probaly end up with a ringer like your Dad's uin right hand drive... :) - The CLS is sooo stunning (almost like a 4 door CL).

Cicely use OEM-style badging for the bootlid as well, I've seen a lot of W124 and W201s knocking about with that badge on the back, looks quite cool :)

I think Cicely are near Preston, mainly do vans and stuff now I think.

sorry, yep i meant cicely, not gericia! We thought for ages that it was some special edition (it was lowered with a nice body kit etc) until Evans of Leicester told us what it really was when we traded it in.... (this was back in 95ish)

Unfortunately, mine just has the standard MB brakes/calipers (in gold paint) :o Its somene elses car that you have probably seen.

Your coupe looks great and I would not worry too much about the brakes/calipers (the standard calipers are more noticabale on the saloon than coupe). However, to date no has yet enetioend anythiing about my calipers yet. I never really paid too much attention to them until Shude said something about another AMG Design 2 wheels that hide the calipers or something alobng the lines that mad eme a little paranoid.
