CD changer compatibility with Audio 10 CD?

Hi, I recently bought a 2003 C-class 270CDI which came with Audio 10CD and I bought from ebay a CD changer model MC 3189, part number A 002 820 7989.
I have spoken to the stealers many times now, but they are no help at all. They wouldn't tell me if this changer will fit my radio, but they said the correct CD changer (according to the chassis number) is A 002 820 9089, so I took a chance as I suspect the latter is just an improved version of the former.
Could anyone please offer advice if the CD changer A002 820 7989 will work with radio A203 820 2286 (presumably model BE6021, from my web searches) before I start remiving trim, etc.?

Also, the stealers won't tell me the part number of the cable I need, but one did say that the cable to use with the "correct" A 002 820 9089 changer was A 203 540 0709 (changed to B 6782 2796).

There is a guy on ebay selling at the moment five different "Mercedes CD changer optical harness" items with five different part numbers and prices (but not the one above). The quoted one is £23 from the stealers so I don't mind buying it, but does anyone know if it will work with the cd changer I have bought (I want to use it in the glove compartment?

P.S. Am I right to think that NO electric cable is needed as one is already in the car?

CD-Wechsler:

• Nur Mercedes D2B (LWL – Lichtwellenleiter) CD-Wechsler (ab ca. 7.98 (7.99) – u.a. verbaut mit Audio 10 CC/CD und Audio 30) sind mit dem APS 30 kompatibel. Folgende Mercedes Modelle werden unterstützt: MC3010, MC3111, MC3198.

• Es gibt keine andere Möglichkeit ältere oder andere CD-Wechsler mit dem APS 30 zu betreiben. Auch Becker Wechsler sind nicht kompatibel. Ausnahme ist der seltene Becker BE2662 CD-Wechsler. Dieser verfügt auch über einen D2B Anschluss, welcher allerdings für den MB D2B Kabelbaum umgebaut werden muss.

In English, only the MC3010, MC3111 and the MC3198 are compatible with your Audio 10 CD... (Audio 30 APS has the same connections)

The MC3198 is going in the boot and the MC3010 in the glove department. You will need 2 cables, 1 Fibre and 1 power cable.
