hi all, im thinking of replacing the 'poppy uppy' star for a flat badge on the front of my C220 saloon. Not because I really want to, but im guessing that at some stage im going to leave the car parked somehwere and its going to get half inched. Its not really the replacing it either, its the damage that might be done in the process, so have thought about changing it for a flat badge... Any ideas, advice, what does a badge cost, how easy is it to change, etc...?

thanks in advance

Flat Badges

Suggest you try SVS at www.specialvehicle.co.uk or telephone them at 0870 2406657. The guy there is very helpful and I got mine within 48 hours, cost around £25 for a genuine MB badge and the adapter that replaces the 'gun sight'.

Removing the old badge is simply by a quarter turn on the spring loaded 'bar' below the badge under the bonnet. The new one goes in from the top and is held by a couple of screws. Everything will be obvious once you have seen it.

Beware that you might get some flak from the purists on here!

Regards,

Ernie

No flack from me, some a*se left a load of screwdriver marks on my e-class after ( unsucessfully ) trying to remove the gunsight.

I don't care for the flat badges. I've got one on our Sprinter and the blue colour faded after a while.

Just wire the "Gun Sight Star" to the battery.. and wait...

Ah, that's better. ;)

is that the one that goes up and down on its own when hte car starts/stops?
