Changing Door handles on a W202?

Hi,
I've managed to get hold of a set of elegance door handles (the ones with the metal bits at the top of the handles).
But how in gods name do you get the old ones off? I took the door cards off, expecting them to be not that hard to get the handles off but i can't see any easy(ish) way of taking them off and replacing them?
Any advice in taking off the old ones would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I got a bodyshop to fit mine. There is a nut behind the door seal, and its a tricky job unless you know what you are doing.

I already had the elegance ones with the chrome strip, as my car is an elegance. Just swapped them for colour coded W210 (E class) handles with a chrome strip, and had the front end pieces with the sensors in painted to match. If you have plain black handles at the moment, the front ones won't look quite right if you replace with chrome edged ones, as the front end pieces are not replaceable at a reasonable cost. What year is your car ?

4mm hex key, pretty sure you do not need to take the door card off, from memory, you pull the door rubber seal out of the panel, and you will find the hole behind there.

not 100% on this, will check a car at work tomorrow for you if no-one else replies...

I've got both the front and back parts of the door handle, so how to replace both bits would be brilliant :D

Thanks

I am doing a tutorial when my locks arrive. I think the principle is the same with the 124 and yours. I may be wrong though.

See attachments.

It is a 4mm allen/hex key.
The 124's are a 3mm...

pull back your rubber and the front door the allen key grub screw, screws outwards. On the rear door it screws it screws in towards the front of the car.

You will understand when you have a go.

P.S sorry for the crappy pics, taken on my fone then sent via vodafone MMS...

where do i order the chrome door handles, mine have chrome and a black strip on them, email me the part number or something i can do, [email protected]
You order them from the stealership. Before you can use any part numbers we really need to know what model/year of car you have and what colour it is!

my car is a 1997 c280, and it is that smokey silver color, but i want the all chrome door handles, where every part of it is chrome, right now, I just have the sides chrome, and center black...

Ahh, in that case I dunno because it's not an oem part!

well what about silver cars? unless they would go with a silver color door handle it would make more sense to make it chrome instead of silver, since its almost the same and it would match all of the car, and I thought elegence cars had all chrome door handles....
