So whats it worth with mileage and what seems a lack of service history!

Yup, my E55 was badged as avantgarde on the side trims on the front wings

I did consider the E55, and really like the estate version, but the insurance quotes i was getting were 50% more than a CLK55 or 500SL. It's a shame as i would quite like one!

I was seriously looking at this one. However i when i spoke to the chap he was really unhelpful. I asked him only simple questions in regards to servicc history and invoices and what work had been carried out. The car had no service book and the owner apparentky had no idea what work had been done but had invoices, strange to me!!!! Very abrupt and a serious lack of interest add to that the mega miles and lack of history and so i left it.

There are 2 for sale on autotrader im my memory serves me well they have less onwners, only 1 or 2 i think and full service history to boot both with dealers and around 3500 ish!!!!

As for insurance cheapest i got on gocompare was 580 per year

Im well up for one now. Just not this silver one.

Do you mean the present owner (OP) or the previous seller on ebay?

I ask the question because I asked the previous seller if the aircon working properly, and he failed to respond.

I think the W211 is the first of the models where they stopped doing this.

I've also seen W210 E55s badged up as Avantgarde which struck me as a bit odd.

All i know is that i asked the ebay seller several questions about the cars history and what invoices he had for works carried out and the answer was vague and given with a distinct lack of interest on his behalf.

Example: i asked what history does it have and what works were carried out

His reply : no service book but lots of reciepts that im not about to list
