Cheap way to upgrade to DAB?

Would like to upgrade both ours to DAB.
Don’t think the 2013 E class should be a problem as it has ntg 4.5 with a socket in the armrest with a set of 3 cables, one of which is, if I remember correctly, usb. Could even go the full install and spend £249 with commandonline for an integrated system.
The SLK though has ntg 2.5 iirc and no aux in. I see commandonline do a £36 cable to add aux socket in the glove box. But the cigarette lighter socket/power socket is on the side of the transmission tunnel in the passenger footwell which doesn’t lend itself to having something permanently plugged in. I guess it would be ok to splice into the wiring on the back of that socket to get power for an aftermarket DAB device?

Now, is it me, or does the Alpine converter look virtually the same as the newer Pure converter, but with a different badge? :)

LOL, you see, I like the Pure one better, neater control panel, nice clear display, and I've hated Alpine sine I had 2 consecutive head units go faulty on me in the 80s! But they are often fitted as standard to Lamborghini, so maybe they know how to make them better these days...

I got rid of my whole COMAND system and fitted an Android head unit instead, took a bit of work but it has so much more functionality although still need to sort out the steering wheel controls first two attempts failed! :wallbash:
