How can this be true?

"It appears I can buy a brand new XFR (510 PS) as it comes from the factory without any additional options) for £30,400 tax free, or £37,000 with tax, which seems like an amazing amount of car for the money. It works out cheaper than almost any of the other versions of the car.

No, I've asked for more details.

RAF purchase has been suggested, but I know nothing about how that works.

Unless, somebody got the letters wrong, and they meant XF R-sport, in which case the price would make sense

Still doesn't compute, even if they got the VAT knocked off it would be circa £53k, what else can the manufacturer knock off for a straight cash deal?

Brother-in-law is in the forces and they can purchase a vehicle without VAT + a discount of 20% or more.
Before the rules were changed and he would change every 6 months - I remember he made £14k profit on a A208 320.
True fact.
Plus, in germany, a few years back, i think he was paying 23p a litre with his rations / tokens.

still.. he did get shot at a couple of times.
