Its amazing is`nt it;if a car owner tampers with a car or puts ill-judged or tasteless modifications on, prospective buyers will be put off immediately.
It could be a completely genuine car but those blingin` alloys just give the wrong impression, and first impressions count!
Sometimes its best to keep it original.....

This is the same as people walking around a property that's for sale talking about how bad the sofa is and that the curtains don't match. Pretty daft really, in both cases they're easy to change and in the case of the house you're usually not even buying the furniture!

The seller should have put some 17" styling IVs on it and sold the other wheels separately, it would sell more easily and he'd probably get more money for it.

Yes, that's true, but with a car the modifications can give you some idea as to the character of the driver and perhaps how the car has been driven and maintained. It's shallow I know, but you need every clue you can get.

Ask yourself... *IF* you were looking for a Saxo, for your daughter or son, would you buy one that had already been chavved to the eyeballs. Sure the mods can be taken off but what sort of life has it had?

Poor taste in wheels doesn't exactly mean the car has had a hard life, those wheels were probably quite expensive too and otherwise the car looks standard and unmolested.

Modders should do the decent thing when they sell their cars and make them look as original as possible :)

'Revenge of the Project Kahns'

Is there a car yet made that these wheels suit ?

Losing count of the number of C32s on ebay, that have had non-OE wheels. Are the wheels prone to be nicked?? Can't imagine why else you'd change them.

Yes, wheels can easily be changed back to standard, but I agree that it gives a clue to the history of the car. Would rather hang on and find one with it's cherry still in tact. ;)

Hijacked account, won't be on there for long. Don't bid they are phishing for your Email address

Well if thats a genuine AOL email shurely there will need to be a genuine AOL billing address and so surely they should be able to prosecute or does it only become a crime if money is taken?

the lacquer and paint on the AMG wheels flake off as easily as Kimi Raikkonen blowing a Merc engine so I guess people replace the wheels instead of refurbing them.

Ahhh. Not great, but better than being even more popular with the criminal underworld than a Jag Mk2 or 1960s Babs Windsor.

I would have though - Jag and Babs!! ;)
