cigarette lighter unit removal

Could someone assist please,

I have a 2002 W203 coupe

I would like to fit an illuminated gear knob purchased from here MERCEDES shift gear knob + gaiter illuminated LED NEW on eBay (end time 30-Aug-09 17:42:57 BST)

I would preferto remove the cigarette lighter unit & use the connectors supplied rather than splice the wiring, can someone tell me how to remove the unit as a whole.

Part 2

I would like to do this as an upgrade & there isn't much wrong with the existing knob & lever, could anyone guess of any value on ebay for a used gear knob & gaiter (without any marks or rips)

I was scared to click the link when I read the illuminated bit as I thought it would be one of those really naff ones but in fact it looks OK and as mine is worn I may keep an eye on these.

Can't help with the lighter removal bit but I would be interested in seeing the after pics including a night time shot if you would be so kind.
