One of my front foglights is leaking a tiny bit of water in and Merc say it's due to a faulty seal. Can it be removed and re-sealed ? can't imagine why some clear silicone wouldn't do the job. If not, anyone recommend a good parts supplier ?!

Merc won't replace it as they don't cover seals.

Is removal/refitting a simple job ?

Cheers

I'm not sure that the AMG foglights do come apart, that said looking at a picture of one:

There are clips that appear to secure the lens to the body of the unit, so perhaps you could carefuly prise it apart and use some silicone to seal it?

You'll need to get at it from the wheel arch/undertray.

Nick - to save all the hassle of trying to repair it, I may as well order one at that price ! Can you put up a link to the passenger side for a CL55 ? Not sure if it's left or right, depending on where you stand !

Cheers

Changed mine on my e class the other day and as said remove under tray, 2 screws each lamp and the lamps are out, the lens seem to be sealed with an o ring or black flat seal, then held in place with clips.

The seals were not leaking in mine but water was getting in the little breather vents at the back rubbish design.

Bought and fitted some depo ones very nice to:)

Old ones were completely rotten inside, bulb holder and the reflector, and the amount of water that came out was amazing.
