clk 200 1999 please help urgent

Check the maf to see if there's any oil on it! If so clean it with contact cleaner and let it dry. Had this on mine very recent and the star came back with actuator code and nothing about the maf. If the maf is dodgy it with throw alsorts of codes which aren't necessarily the problem. Its worth a look.

Lol really didn't want to hear that mate.however I have cleaned the maf as you have stated and it made no difference at all.also tried to run our rev the car with the maf off and the car ran worst so I'm guessing the maf is fine. Could do with advice on the situation when the part is fitted will it have to go back to merc to be boot strapped or not or will the car come to life and be able to rev correctly.

Did it have oil on? If not it could just be stuffed. Anyone you know got one you could try? Is your a kompressor?

Nope no oil on it mate. Other people have said to check a maf if you un plug it and there's no difference then it's normally a dud. However my engine Idles worst with it out so I'm guessing it's Ok.plus I can't see a dud maf would stop the car from reving at all careless if its in our out. No it's not a komp straight clk 200 mate.

Merc have called and advised they could read the ecu and two codes are
1 throttle acculator
2 cam sendor

1000 for both ummmmm

So is it the actual parts or the wiring to the parts. I can get the parts but don't want to fork out over 100 only to find out its the wiring. My step dad is very good with a voltage meter but can you advise what he should be checking please. Also if these parts are changed will it need coding again. The technician said he tried to boot strsp the acculator back to zero whatever that means but wouldn't allow him.can some one explain what that means please. Cheers

Hi dsm I think you have read my post wrongly. I don't believe the statement was churlish but an actual fact. Plus if you took the time to read my whole post instead of jumping in half way through you will of notice
I mentioned what the diagnosis came back with. Also I think you will find I thanked those people that commented on every post and again in my closing post. Dsm you seem to read what you want to read and not understand how to interpret text without the smiley faces the lol at the end of each sentence. I'll phrase it different in future but this was not a dig at the forum and defo not a dig at the comments I received back. Smiley face.

I know how frustrating this must be to you,but if you don't get an answer straight away it's for a reason,(a) knowledge not online at the time (B) member doesn't Know.The correct answer to your problem was:get it plugged into star with a MB trained tech,which was posted several times including a true expert Black C55.The other advice was possible causes that you could try without incurring expense.If you have since found the answer,please let us know as we value feedback that may help others.This forum is a community of MB enthusiasts that helps one another.

I have read all of your posts thank you, why do you presume to think I jumped in "half way through"

You were given good and accurate advice from very early on in the thread.

That advice was to seek the help of a MB specialist and get a proper diagnosis.

There was therefore, no need for your comments regarding the perceived lack of response to your original query.
