hi I'm new on here and hoping someone can help.
I lent a friend my clk this weekend and he returned it with the spacesaver wheel fitted (nearside rear) and my alloy in the boot with a destroyed tyre ! then he tells me when he fitted the spare he used the bolts from the alloy not the shorter bolts with the wheel in the boot. then found the shorter bolts so read the manual and swaped them, now the tyre has been replaced and alloy fitted again I am getting a noise ,sounds almost like I am driving on a flat tyre !
can anyone suggest what my friend might have done to my car ?

Oh dear not good!

How did it sound with the space saver on ?

The longer bolts may have hit/damage parking brake mechanism. Have it checked ASAP

sounded like it was running with a flat tyre or something catching ,is it a big job to inspect the parking brake hub?

Not really, caliper of (2 bolts) disk of (t30 screw) you may be able to tap the disk off but will probably have to back the park brake off with a flat blade screw driver through a bolt hole, it might fall to bits when the disk is removed tbh, double check the threads on the bolts and the hub if there tight or damaged in any way you should change it.
