CLK 500 change to sport / AMG silver cluster

I would like to change the speedo/rev/clock cluster on my CLK500 2003 for a silver one from a sport or AMG CLK. Does anyone know the compatibility between these for different engines say V6 and V8, and between the early cars and the later facelift models from about 2005-2006, which I understand have differences in electronics.

You will need star to transfer the mileage across.

So if I was to get a cluster from a CLK280 sport 2006, it would be plug and play for my CLK500 2003, other than getting the mileage corrected?
