CLK Auto dimming rear view mirror

Hi All,

After cracking my standard rear view mirror I have bought an auto dimming version for my CLK w208 BUT unfortunately I have got one in Orion Grey and not Quartz.

Does anyone, by any chance, have a quartz version that they would like to swap??

No they come in black grey and quartz. Some just dip some dip and open the garage doors. w202s were all black but I got a w210 one which was grey in order to match my cars grey interior.

For the CLK there are two - one is Quartz which is actually a beige colour and is the one I need, the other is Orion which is a proper light grey colour.

Guydewdney - do you mean you have a beige one going spare??

I might be interested in buying the grey one. Depends on how much you want for it if you cant swap it.

swap for similar in any colour - ideally black for the pimpmobile - but i was going to paint it anyway....

brand new, never used. dust is free...

lights are the alarm indicator lights...

dont have a particular use for them on the pimpmobile... yet. so fi you get stuck ill do the swap.

That connector looks interesting! Those lights indicate that it's from a pre-EIS car, so before 1997 maybe. Odd that it has an accessory number on it rather than a factory part number.

That looks like the colour I am after e.g. quartz (which is a beige colour but not as beige as the ones posted above!!!!!)

Mine is a little on the greyer (is this a word?) side called Orion.

Is this mirror something that you have access to then????

lol, it might have been, last September! I passed the info on to a forum member, it might have been R2D2. I doubt it is still there though.

Nope I got mine from a place in london. Dronsfield may still have one!

If I can get hold of a quartz one (like the one in Shude's picture) then I will be happy to sell the Orion one for whatever the quartz one costs me, not looking to make a profit, just get the right colour.

Shude, any chance that you could see if that one at Dronsfield is still available and how much it will be?

If I get the right colour I will do a swap or sell to Miro / Paul for what I have to pay for it.

I have fitted it to my CLK - which was dead easy (thanks to posts telling me how, cheers to Graham and Shude here) and its really rather good, just not quite matching and I'm a bit of a perfectionist!

before you get too excited, check out the back of it, also it rattles if you shake it!

Yukk! Has someone been using it as a roller-hockey puck or something?

I've put the orion on into the car and it works great, and the colour isnt that far off (I will probably be the only one that notices but then I am like that!)

Will just stay happy with what I have i reckon, thanks all the same
