CLK Glovebox and CD Changer

Hello peoples. I have just bought my first MB, a 2006 CLK 220 and after a week of ownership I have discovered 3 faults that I would like help with.
The glovebox will only close if it is slammed and even then it doesn't shut tight and I think that the previous owners constant slamming has made the catch bar loose. Is there a fix for this or do I need to buy a new lid?
Secondly, there is a 6 disc changer in the glovebox which I loaded with CD's, however, when I push the CDC button I get a message that reads NO CDC. Any thoughts on this?
Lastly, there is a crack in the centre boot brake light lens. I've found several prices online and just wondered how easy it is to replace the unit.

PS. I did test drive it, but never thought to open the glovebox or check the CDC

Here's hoping for some help. Much obliged.

All of the CLKs I tested had hard-to-close glove boxes, as does my Grandads B class. Try pushing it closed from the point where the carpet starts, this seems to work for me.

My CDC button does that - and I control my changer from the up/down buttons around the volume one. So far I cannot find anything that the CDC button would do that I cannot do without it?

No idea on the brake light - sorry!

Hope this helps :-)

Hi I have a clk and the glove box needs solide push to close - not a slam but not feather touch close either.

I replaced the centre brake light on mine as it was broken, bought unit from local Merc garage (£76 I think) and fitted it myself took about 20mins and was quite easy - just make sure you don't drop the bolts in the inner skin.

I have a 208 CLK and with that too the glove box like 4n0y says needs a solid push, seems to be a full range CLK trait it seems!

I've replaced both rear light clusters for new units as the old ones were showing their age, again straight forward after you have moved the inner carpet out the way and pray one of the bolts isnt threaded! Dont drop them it will annoy they hell out of you!!

The centre brake light lens is easy to remove - you need to pop two clips off the boot lid lining (with the boot lid open) either side. Then you will notice a bolt on the back of the lens that you couldnt see before with the carpet in place. Undo that one and the two ones that were previously visible on the boot edges and then pull out. I need to remove some greenery from the edges of mine so they will be coming out this weekend.

These people are good with cd changer repairs and very helpfull too not just tring to get you to spend money with them but get you to check things on the car before you send them the changer they fixed mine for around £80.
