Hi all, I've seen on here that it's possible to clean the sticky mess from the dash part surrounding the air vent/controls, but ideally I'd like to remove this piece to clean properly and can't see how it comes out (without breaking/damaging). Can someone give a tip or two on how to get it free of the console? (see photo)

Well a number of mercedes cars suffer with this ,my S320 buttons on the steering wheel went all sticky,I bought a bottle of Goo Away from Ebay, and it cleans and lifts that sticky mess, took me about 30 mins to clean my buttons the white inserts were ok after you remove what seems to be some sort of varnish/semi matt covering.

Hi, I'm with zipdip, Goo Away, or 2% alcohol wipes, cheep as can be on the bay, for cleaning skin before injections, either way, be VERY slow and gentle, the colour is paint on a translucent plastic, the arrows are the masked plastic.
