How do I remove the Headlight/Folding Mirror switch from my 2003 CLK240 W209?

Anything like my 203 there is a screw in the handbrake release handle resess. You may also need to remove the dash end panel.

Thanks for the help but there is no screw in the handbake recess. This retainig screw and how to get to it is the sticking point. I can get the unit partly out by taking of the dash end panel but the location of the botton retaing screw holding it in is a mystery.

You must have the handbrake handle pulled so that you can fit the torx driver underneath and reach the screw on the switch
After you remove the screw unplug and pull

Took me forever to find the screw as I have the same problem. I've managed to replace the switch but have the same problem.
When I press up on the mirror switch, the mirrors go down! They both go left, right and down and when the memory button is pressed the mirrors revert back and go to the programmed position.

So, the motors both sides work, I've replaced the switch with an eBay replacement. What else could it be? Mercedes told me that the star software won't reset them. I don't really want to pay £300 for a new one as they said they can't match the colour.
Anyone got any ideas?
