Does anyone agree with me that dropping the twin exposed tailpipes on the "non-sport" new CLS is a bad move?

Even on the SE spec E coupe our beloved pipes are on show

And on all engines of the previous CLS..

What's going on??!!!

Totally agree. The twin tail pipes look fantastic.

Seriously considering moving up to a CLS350 next August. They are just achingly beautiful.

Going to be hard avoiding spending any money on the CLK though as I'd love a set of wheels for it...

I'm still thinking about an E coupe... :)

I think 2013 CLS non sport models have the exposed pipes .. look at the price list

what you want is 4 pipes :)

Is that ***'s hovel on the left ?

Yes, the E class coupe does indeed look very nice. Had a look around one at my local dealer a few weeks back.

4 do indeed look better, just love looking at the back end of these cars. Thanks for posting the dirty pic. LOL

I'd really LOVE a CLS55 (or 63) but the road tax and fuel cost dampen my desire somewhat! :D But, you never know - or an E500 coupe.. :D

CLS55 is only £270 RFL.

Fuel cost is, well, what it is!! :)

it can be fuel efficient(ish) ...

I think he lives in a silver C class estate :)

Hah! I managed 28mpg on a trip to Devon (M4/M5)

I don't I'm afraid.

I rather liked the non-sport W211 hiding its pipes. I think the car looks better without them. Same with the CLS.

Yes, true, but I'd want a car newer than mine which would take me firmly into the £475.00 category.. :(

Whereas the E350cdi coupe is only £215, plus the fuel costs will be much lower.

Still, if we were taxed here as per the Russian model which is power based, the 500s and 55/63s would cost around £1300!! Not soooo bad here then! :D

It's only money!!

Why something newer? Why not something more 'special'?

Good point.... would cost a fair bit less to buy too... :)

Hmmm.......

Now more than ever I realise the CLS, quite unlike any other Mercedes which should only be available in silver for reasons of good taste, should only be available in black or mystic blue

Today, I got the first EVER serious compliment of my CLS from SWMBO! It was parked in nice surroundings and we were returning to it and somehow a combination of the angle of the car and the sunset made it look really special. She exclaimed " Your CLS really is a beautiful car!" These words have never been uttered by her in relation to any car before!

CLS visibly looked proud of itself :D
