Does anyone have a parts drawing for a 2007 CLS 320d, I ask as I've had new front springs fitted and it my car sits a little nose high.

I've also noticed some new spring rubbers ( Top of the spring ) have been fitted but I can't remember seeing them before.

And if they should be there is there different thickness depending on spring rates etc from the factory???

Thanks.

Not only are there different spring spacers (rubbers) but the springs also change depending on options fitted.

Where did you source the new springs?

They were supplied and fitted by M.B specialist in Blackpool. The guy running the garage is Ex-MB Blackpool and was there Chief Tech.

My car has never been nose high as it were, but always sat nice, if you know what I mean.

The size of the rubber spacer is almost the amount it sits to high between tyre and arch.

It's annoying me that much that I'm either going to buy a set of lowering H&R springs or cut a coil off, but if the wrong rubber has been fitted I can go back to garage and question it with a little knowledge.

Were they MB springs or 3rd party?

Only by using MB's EPC and your VIN can one be sure of the correct spring and spacer

I will have to ring Monday and ask, he new all about the colour code and spec etc.

My arch gap was always equal around the car, not nose high. I appreciate my front springs were weak, hence why one snapped but the arch gap was still equal.

My money is on wrong springs, there was a thread recently regarding a cls that was to low, Mercedes did the work, ended up being the wrong springs fitted.

Out of interest how do I stand if I go back and complain, I've done over 1k miles so they should have settled by now.

I have is pic's of my car from when polishing etc to show him the arch gap, he could say though that the springs and spacer he's fitted are correct.

It should be rectified if it is incorrect, if they are Sachs springs from euro car parts I bet they are wrong, so many different variations, I have been caught out by this, Mercedes "should" supply the right springs but mistakes can happen, I don't see why you would need new spring pads though.

It doesn't take long for springs to settle.

Thanks for your help guys, I have a few questions I can fire at them on Monday when I turn I turn up, lol.

Out of interest, what's the thinnest spring pad?
