The mechanic who does the car for me had to use OEM parts as his usual supplier was sold out, he told him he sells 10 sets of cylinders a week.I wasn't too bothered about the expence I just wanted it fixed once a forall .Anyway it's going to be insured as a 2nd car on a low mileage policy this time round and my Scenic as the main vehicle. That will save a few hundred quid. :D
Well, that's been a few days now and no problems, long may it continue. Fingers crossed eh! ;)

This is just awful! A few days ago the clutch pedal on my W124 250TD stuck down though the clutch wasn't engaged. I hooked my toe around it and pulled it back, depressed it again and all was normal. Didn't do it again for a couple of days then it became really bad again. Anyone got any ideas?

Bob

I've got the same problem! Only I changed the Slave and Master cylinder just over 20K miles ago (Just over a year) so I was told by a specialist dealer that if it's those components then they carrie a two year warrenty and the Stealership will swap the parts for free (even though they didn't fit them), so I gave the car to Greenoaks, they kept it for three days and said that they can't see the problem, they've tried it and since it won't do it for them they can't do anything! So I picked the car up and just as I was nearing home the pedal stuck down again!!! I'm not sure what to do now! I had the clutch plates changed not long before the cylinders so what is my problem!!!?????? Please advise...... Oh, there doesn't appear to be any fluid leakage. And It's a 190E 89' 2.5-16 Valve. Anyone got any advise.....???

The master cylinder seals invert when pressed, especially the first press after not being used for a while.

You need Greenoaks to see the fault then they can replace the parts.

But I've been away for a week and the car hasn't been used at all and it's not done it yesterday or today...?? Could it still be the Master Cylinder?
