Coat 12 :)

Love it! That looks great :) Did you use a polisher?

No, although I know machine polishing, this was actually hand worked. decontaminated, glazed, then 2 layers of wax. It's the side of an 04 Evo I think

I'm not a detailer by trade or anymeans etc, just know the ropes & help out a few close friends. :)

Wow R2D2, that has to be the shiniest car I`ve ever seen !

I`m truly ashamed of mine now, has to be the filthiest black W211 in the UK today :-(

I promise to raise my standards on Saturday with my new bag of AG goodies and HD wax !

Love it R2, really stunning results. Hopefully the underside is just as clean and protected?...

Well done! We look forward to seeing the results :)

When Steve was checking it over for me, he cleaned the underside which he said had half a farm on it! He them waxoiled the suspension parts and more vunerable areas. I haven't polished it yet though ;)

Wax is a protection for your hard work and will 'enhance' the look of your paintwork when applied. 3 Coats of wax completed over 3 days is perfect but there is no harm in applying lots of layers.
But it is a known fact that paintwork looks its best when completly corrected without any LSP at all.(If done correctly) but it is necessary to protect your paint and if you have seen my wax collection you will know I quite like the stuff:)

Wow, what great results guys. I now feel I NEED to go and get the wax out.
If only it would stop raining......

I came out from an appointment this morning and it was a grey overcast sky and I wasn't thinking about my car, then suddenly I saw my car reflecting the cloudy sky and it was just insane, it was like a mirror :)

Looks spot on and although much of it is a waste of product there is no harm in tending to your fetish...however....C2 will NOT bond to wax...it needs to be a completely clean surface for it to be applied to....so what you are doing it applying a product that you think is doing something when in fact it will probably only be there for a wash if you are lucky....simply because it doesnt bond chemically but electrostatically....thats assuming you are talking about Gtechniq C2....

if you want to sandwich something between layers of wax use Zaino Z6 or Reflectology R 2WO...which is new to the game but blinds most others IMO....perfectly sits between waxes and sealants and add stupendous gloss and wetness....

Cheers. I will have to research Reflectology R 2WO. Gtechniq themselves told me that C2 can be used as a top coat or a base coat with wax.

Think thats a sales pitch tbh with C2...its the same product as Permanon just re labelled....not that I am saying there is anything wrong with that coz all manufacturers do it....if you look into the permanon site under Permanon Supershine Specialist Boat & Car Polish, Wax & Protection products it will show you and explain how to apply the product....

Regarding R 2WO you need to go to here which takes you to a FB page...just because its not officially been released yet...just think you could be the first MBClub member to use it....

This is correct, all nano/crystal coats must be applied to a none silicone based platform. As said z2pro can be layered but need a long curing time to ensure you are not removing it with the next coat. If you apply it with zfx accelerators then you can re apply every 30 minutes as the reduces curing time dramatically.

In my conclusions either use sealants and waxes together over long periods of time for layering. But I will tell you now 1 coat of C1 with a 24 hour curing time and then a coat of EXO on top can give upto 5 years of protection. But it is purely a protection. Some say it can make a deeper finish, but for me it's all in the prep. The car should be how you want it before the protection.

But with wax it most definitely can refine the finish and will also mask a lot up with multiple amounts of applications.
I have a range rover sport coming up and he preferred the finish with wax, so it will have 3 coats over 3 days giving 24 hours between coats. This sounds extreme but gives the 76% pure Brazilian white to bond to the paint. By doing this it should last around 10-12 months as long as its washed with a decent ph neutral shampoo. The less aggressive the cleaners the longer the protection will last. If I have time ill put up a post on winter protections and what to do correctly for the optimum amount of protection.

I saw a Silver BMW at KDS that had been completely Gteched and it was amazing. It was like it had a plastic coat over the shine that was untouchable. If I could affordc that kind of job then I would because I know that under my "inch" of shine are scratched galore. If you strip mine back to paint I'd probably have kittens, as it is my layers of wax and c2 mask the flaws rather well. Given that c2 isn't bonding to the wax then how should I continue to use it in my regime?

Be careful with the amount of polishing you do - I overdid it on mine and went right through the bonnet! ;)

If Reflectology would care to send me some samples then I'll be the first on here to try them and I'll then do a review. (So they better not muck up my shine!)

if you get in touch via email mate i will get some samples put together for you....and it wont ruin your shine....

Reflectology?? is that some kind of weird cult?

Heres a question....why do birds like to cr@p on shiney cars, can gaurantee that within a day of cleaning / polishing.......splat!

Well I exchanged emails with Russ and I'll be testing some Reflectology products next week. Watch this space :)
