Code reading

Dash command best one I found and its wireless straight to iphone or ipad and does fault codes and data logging and various dash boards and gauges. Its worth checking out and very easy to set up and use

I did change the IP address etc, I tried that with the both apps, also with my I phone also my I pad and with both apps they did conect to the elm327 it went through various protocols but on every sinario it reconnected and went through the protocols again and again and again then give up after so many atempts

Just thought I'd ask, good luck with the replacement

I have to say my elm on wifi to iphone is patchy yet the elm Bluetooth I have on android is as stable as anything

No it's good to ask you never know, it's all new to me anyway thanks but if I'm right these plug in devices don't work on BT with apple products or that's what I've read anyway, so are there any other options a direct cable the trouble is apple products are are so fussy with correct leads being plugged in

I was going to get dash command, but I just wanted to make sure I could connect up and get used to it a little before I bought any apps just to make sure it all worked ok mainly

ELM 327
I've tried two different apps EOBD FACILE and
OBD CAR DOCTOR and on them both they do connect to the car and go through different protocols but then reconnect over and over any ideas. I've tried it with my I pad air also a my phone 5s the car is a 2003 w203 c220 avantgarde merc any ideas thanks steve.
PS are my right that the car has to be 2004 and later as mine is 2003 ?

This is what mine does on wifi with iphone and iPad then every third or so go it connects perfectly. It should work on any car with obd2. Although I can connect on obd1 on my 1998 clk using a 38 pin to obd2 converter.

I've come to the conclusion not from this but also from other device connections that for this sort of stuff Apple products are complete sh*te

I have a galaxy tab 3 on android running facile on a Bluetooth adapter and it never fails communicates every time and let's me access all four cars we have including gearbox ECU and all other ECU s

I've given up on Apple and now stick to the Galaxy tab

Thanks for that well I've just tried my i pad on my partners Citroen C1 it connected straight away with both apps I knew there was one fault on it and both apps picked it up but only the car doctor let me delete it, but I have read a few times that it will work with most petrol cars but I'm sure I read something that it will only work with diesel merc after 2004.

I'll try mine on my neighbours C Class diesel today if he's in and let you know

Just tried on my neighbours 2003 c class diesel c220 cdi and the ELM 327 Bluetooth and Galaxy tab work fine, connects and scans as it should with Facile.

With the wifi ELM 327 WiFI and iphone or ipad they both do the same it connects scans to about 30% throws and error code, tries to connect again, connects gets to 30% throws the error code and just goes round in a loop

Reinforces my conclusion that Apples products are sh*te for this sort of thing

Hope that helps

flango your a gem mate thanks for that. looks like i'm going to have find some programs that can work on my redundant windows 7 laptop through wifi or get a lead and plug straight in ? Ps looks like i'm going to have to learn to dance in the rain lol
