Car
Mercedes Benz 230 ce Coupe
hi there,
i'm new to this so thankyou all in advance :)

i have got myself a mercedes 230 ce coupe on a k plate (92/93), when the car is warmed up she runs / drives and ticks over like a dream however she does take a bit to start, i have had it suggested that it needs a cold start unit / valve when it was in for its mot which it passed with flying colours, when 1st started she ticks over at about 500 - 600 rpm this then rises to approx 700 -750rpm once the engine is warm:dk:

any help with answers will be greatly appreciated

forgot to say its a 2.3ltr automatic if this is of any relevance

Do a search on the forum/ internet for CIS or KE Jetronic injection systems. Could be lots of things, cold start valve or its associated electronics [ e.g. fuel pump relay] engine temperature sensor, electrohydraulic actuator, idle stabilisation valve or its supply [ OVP relay] OR some form of inlet manifold leak or a leak in its associated pipework. Have a look at the spark plugs and see if the car is running weak.

Thanks grober will give it a search, and do a bit investigating
