So I applied the Collinte today but god knows what I did wrong it was a bugger to buff off!

I applied it all over the car (took around 5 minutes) then tried to buff it off. :(

Anyway here are some pictures...

you should clay it first, then use something like autoglym super resin polish, then use the wax, you will notice how much smoother the paintwork will be.

when you said it took 5 mins to put on, it says it all really, takes me a good half day to wash clay and wax properly

Looks stunning!

From the Collinite website

"No.476s – most durable protection/weather defense. Most elbow grease required during application."

"Surface should feel lukewarm to the touch. Apply wax in THIN, even coat to a CLEAN section no larger than 2X2ft at a time with applicator pad. As wax begins to dry/haze, polish off with dry microfiber or soft cotton towel. See TECH SHEET for additional tips and instructions."

I was rushing for a couple of reasons a) it was going to rain b) it was pub time!

Does it dry similar to the super resin polish? It was similar to get off when I try and buff the resin polish off to soon.

I presume it will rain tomorrow but might get another coat on in the morning if i'm lucky. I have no clay but should I use the resin polish then wax again?

All hard waxes take a lot of buffing off...that's why they are durable...

I use Collinite 915 and when applied as directed it buffs off easily. Just don't apply too thickly!

476s is fine provided you stick to instructions and do small patches at a time. No more than half a bonnet area, applied as thinly as possible on an applicator sponge - then it buffs off quite simply.

Thanks everyone, suppose it's just a learning process. I will definitely do a bit at a time next time.

Few more pics here...

Hard work well rewarded :thumb:

Any interior shots?

She does look lovely!, do get some clay though it will make a world of difference, meguires do a kwik clay kit which is good

I also find find when using 476,having your'e application pad slightly damp makes a big difference much easier to buff off. Also works a treat on your'e alloy's as well!!

As Troon says above, thin coats on small sections at a time. I leave it for 4-5 mins then buff off.

Looking great though :thumb:

So this morning I treated the car with some Autoglym Super Resin Polish, buffed it off then applied some more 476s, I applied it thinly and a panel at a time...IT WAS 100% better :)

476 is a great wax and as Alps has said clay+autoglym is the best way to go.

Can I use the super resin polish and collinite 476s even though my car has stargard applied to it?

Also would collinite last longer than autoglym high definition wax.

Yes and yes.

Thought I would bring this back up as I have run out of Super Resin Polish :(

Is it worth spending the money on SRP as I apply the 476s on afterwards? Are there any other polishes may be worth trying?

Just to add to this I have been looking at the Autobrite Cherry Glaze as a replacement.

Cheers guys!
